Years ago I snapped a photo of a deciduous tree on our property that in the autumn lost all its leaves bar one. I mused about that fragile yet strong last leaf that held fast despite the inevitable beat of the seasons and the marking of time. Music also reflects those rhythms we see in the cycle of nature with its steady beat, crescendos, pauses and drama. This painting attempts to capture that slow movement of time that plays out through the seasons and, with just a hint of drama as the final leaf falls.

Time After Time is a mixed media piece that is built in layers and incorporates collaged music scores, acrylic paint, oil sticks and ink.
