Closer now, the forms become more defined—trunks straining skyward in their final gestures. Cool blue-grey tones dominate, disrupted by raw, rust-coloured marks that ground the scene in the earthy, corrosive nature of salt. There’s both isolation and quiet dignity in this parched stillness.

In this painting I employed a layered mixed-media approach to create depth and texture. I used acrylic paint as the foundational medium, building on older acrylic works to add complexity. Oil sticks, charcoal, and pencil brought expressive linework and tonal variation. I applied the media using a variety of tools, including silicone wedges, palette knives, brushes, and rags, to achieve both precise and spontaneous marks. The result is a dynamic interplay of texture, color, and form, evoking the natural chaos and calm of the landscape.

Every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible with regard to size and colour. The image you see on line may show a difference due to variation between browsers, devices and screen settings.
